developing our first YWCA Empowering Mums Digital Literacy programme. Women
from disadvantaged backgrounds face a digital divide that sets them back further from
economic opportunities and puts them at greater risk of social isolation.
Besides her technical knowledge, Frances’ greatest asset is her deep empathy for those
who have been digitally-marginalized. Her nurturing nature shines and her classes always
end up with lots of laughter.

Ms Frances Yong of White Byte was an event partner for the 2024 “Be S.U.R.E. Together” roadshows at Heartbeat@Bedok and Keat Hong Community Club. Together with her team of youth volunteers, White Byte engaged with over 500 visitors. Frances, a passionate educator and advocate also conducted 2 talks on “Spread Good Bytes“ which provided anti-scam, digital and information literacy tips.

The talk, “Behind the Screen”, delivered using games and stories, left a strong impression.
